Can you spell "ad hominem?"

Interesting, I wonder what Jerry Kilgore's supporters think of his latest comments questioning the sincerity of Tim Kaine's deep, Catholic religious faith?  Aren't you the people always arguing that your religious beliefs are under assault by "liberals?"  Yet now, your candidate, Jerry Kilgore, has attacked the faith of a missionary (see photo at left), for god's sake.  And that's supposed to be ok?

Let me try and get this straight, now, in my confused, moderate Democratic brain:  it's alright for right-wing Republicans to attack Democrats for their deep religious faith, but it's NOT acceptable for Democrats to make even the smallest peeping noise when one particular group of Christians tries to impose its beliefs on important public policy issues for all of us?  Oh, and it's ok for Jerry Kilgore to attack Tim Kaine PERSONALLY for his religious sincerity, but it's not ok for us to question the involvement of Willie Mae Kilgore, registrar of voters for Scott County (and Jerry's mother), for her involvement in an election scandal?

The bottom line, apparently, is this:  right-wing Republicans are allowed to launch the worst kind of vitriolic, ad hominem attacks against Democrats, but it doesn't work the other way around.  Well, sorry, but we Democrats are not going to be as easy to push around as you guys might think.  Especially when your leaders in Congress and the White House are watching their popularity ratings plunge into the 40s, 30s...how low can they go?
