Is George Allen Running for Something After All?

I hear that George Allen was at the Prince William fair earlier today, shaking hands and looking very much like a candidate for something.  The person who told me this also commented, "If you're over the age of 12, there's no reason to go [to the fair]...unless you're running for office."  Verrrry interesting.

By the way, I wonder if Allen considers the Prince William fair to be the "real world of Virginia."  I mean, it's no Northern Virginia and all, pretty far from The Breaks.  ;)

What I do know (Chris Guy - 8/12/2007 11:05:28 PM)
is that conservatives will not get behind Jim Gilmore in a primary w/ Tom Davis. Gilmore's a joke across the political spectrum.

But in light of the inevitable hit that Gov. Kaine's approval rating is about to take, due to his support of the abuser fees, I could see Allen running for Governor again. Succeeding Kaine will not be the same losing scenario for Republicans that following Mark Warner was.

For the Senate in 2008 would be my guess (Shawn - 8/13/2007 11:23:56 AM)
...and what better way than attending the Prince William County Fair to remind one of the three Congressmen from PWC that he can dream of "higher office" ... but requests should go through him first.

Let me also commend the Prince William County Democratic Committee for always being at the fair and helping voters know Democrats care ... I was there last year and will be there again this year.

Did he eat a deep-fried Twinkie? (Kindler - 8/13/2007 8:58:36 PM)
That is the real sign of political ambition in this great country!

They have those in Virginia? (Lowell - 8/13/2007 9:03:21 PM)
I thought deep-fried Twinkies were an Iowa thang. :)
