To the Editor:

I was outraged by a call I received from Lynn Chapman's campaign recently.

Mr. Chapman, who is challenging Del. David Poisson, apparently hired a Salt Lake City-based company called Venture Data to conduct a poll that was disgusting in its techniques, which I consider slimy and unethical. In spite of what they say on their Web site, the company conducted what is commonly called in the election business as a "push poll" where they ask a question that has no basis in fact just to slander someone's reputation.

I was asked if my vote for the House of Delegates would be affected if I knew that Delegate Poisson is "a closet homosexual." First of all, I've known David many years and know he is not gay and happily married with a lovely wife and daughter. Secondly, it is a smear against gay people to suggest that their sexual orientation makes them unfit for office.

The poll went on to ask other leading questions such as would it affect my vote if I knew Delegate Poisson "harbors illegal aliens" or if he had a firm connected to Jack Abramoff.

These are all lies by Chapman.
And it was clearly his doing. When I asked who paid for the poll I was told that it was "the House Republican Campaign Committee and Chapman for Delegate."

Another question I was asked was if my vote for delegate would be affected if I knew that Dick Black endorsed Lynn Chapman. Well, yes, it would give me another reason to vote to re-elect Mr. Poisson. It seems that Lynn Chapman uses the same shady campaign techniques as Dick Black, which is one of many reasons why Poisson defeated him two years ago.

Lynn "Closet Homosexual" Chapman (The Grey Havens - 8/9/2007 8:04:47 PM)
Lynn Chapman just earned the honorary title "Lynn 'closet homosexual' Chapman.

Whenever the name of this despicable piece of work is used in discourse, please use the title this "closet homosexual" Chapman character has earned.  Whenever confronted on the subject, tell the story that we all are dying to tell over and over again about Chapman's dirty politics and how Virginians eat this kind of reprehensible politician for breakfast and spit them out like gypsies spitting on the 'evil eye'.

Congratulations Lynn "Closet Homosexual" Chapman, you earned yourself a title that will likely stay with you the rest of your life.

Heckuva job, "closet homosexual"!

This of course doesn't mean to imply that all closets are Homosexual (Used2Bneutral - 8/9/2007 10:52:04 PM)
It would only mean that a closet containing Ms Chapman might be ..... but obviously more likely would be when she is pushed into the closet.....

Did I understand the point of this ??? :-)

Lynn "closet homosexual" Chapman is male... (The Grey Havens - 8/10/2007 3:50:57 PM)

Speaking of Dick Black... (elevandoski - 8/9/2007 11:04:49 PM)

Simply Disgusting (Dave N. - 8/10/2007 8:22:45 AM)
Black's vile brand of politics was exorcised when Mr. Poisson defeated him (handily) in the last election. And when Mark Herring routed Black's son-in-law Mick Staton in the special election for State Senate in 2005, that made it even more abundantly clear. Apparently there are still a few Black supporters who can't face that fact, and have to rely on another lackey to shovel their manure. After this despicable episode, I'm sure Mr. Chapman will just be the latest casualty in the "Black Out" of Loudoun County politics.
