WORST AG IN THE WORLD!

Via Waldo:

Remember the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries scandal? Top agency officials going on a 17 day African safari, outfitted with gear bought on state credit cards? Funny thing: nobody's been charged with any crime in the case In fact, nobody's been held accountable at all. The case is in the attorney general's hands. That's Bob McDonnell [pictured here with Jerry Kilgore and Bob Bolling], the same AG who received $25,000 for his campaign from Daniel A. Hoffler, the chair of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries board. The guy who uncovered all of this government waste, via a FOIA request, figures that people will have to picket the AG's office before he'll take any action.

In McDonnell's defense- He doesn't actually want to be AG, it's just the best way to get elected Governor! So is it all that fair that we would expect him to do his job?

The saddest thing (legacyofmarshall - 8/8/2007 4:47:10 PM)
Is that nobody's going to care at all in 09 when he's a contendor for governor.  We should ask if a guy who's willing to let government officials steal taxpayer money is qualified to run the commonwealth, but somehow I think his spin machine will successfully convince the people of Virginia that his whopping victory in imposing constitutional bigotry against gays is more than enough to make him qualified to be our next governor.

Worst AG in the world? (bherring - 8/8/2007 5:26:47 PM)
I think perhaps you're forgetting one.  Think a little higher in government.  As atrocious as McDonnell is, nobody beats Fredo.

Yes (KCinDC - 8/8/2007 8:36:20 PM)
AG AG isn't setting a very good example for attorneys general at lower levels.
