As Bonds Hits 756, Nats Watch Silently

I'm watching ESPN right now as Barry Bonds just hit home run number 756.  At first, I was sorry to see the home run came against our hometown Washington Nationals.

But then when I saw their reaction to the home run, I was glad it was the Nats on the field.  The dugout watched stoically, and even when Bonds thanked the Nationals for their patience during the celebration, Nats players on the field barely reacted.

Look, Bonds is going to get his name in the record books.  I don't believe in asterisks.  But I'm proud that the reaction of the Nationals mirrored that of baseball fans across the country.

You can have all the numbers you want, but we know exactly how you got them.
