Always the people's champion of conservation issues, former Del. Albert Pollard is now taking on the commonwealth's dreaded transportation problems. The 28th presents some unique challenges when you consider that it goes from Fauquier alllll the way down the "Northern Neck" to Lancaster & Northumberland Counties. While the full plan will be released on Thursday at his website, it will focus on these four principle values:

*Sometimes perfect is the enemy of good - finding affordable solutions

*Pick the low bearing fruit - using common sense to solve our problems

*Poor land use decisions fuel the problem - using mixed zoning to relieve congestion

*Get the resources for the large projects - making sure our area gets their fair share

"Citizens of the 28th Senate District are constantly battling traffic and congestion while trying to get to work or run to the store for a gallon of milk. I know I can't wave a magic wand and solve all the transportation problems, but I can fight to ensure the voters priorities are heard and fought for in Richmond."
