"All Politics is Local"

http://www.mikkiansin.com/new_politics/preview/tip_o_neil.jpgDuring a discussion tonight - a friend complained that there isn't enough local coverage on Virignia blogs (which I partially agree with). So below is a list of phenomenal (Democratic) blogs that cover a significant amount of local politics:

Blueweeds (Falls Church)- Written by FCCDC Chair Mike Gardner (who is the husband of the Mayor :-P).

Vivian J. Paige (Norfolk)- Vivian is a former candidate for Treasurer who is deeply entrenched in Hampton Roads.

Waldo Jaquith (Charlottesville)- Insightful and very wise. Lost a race for the City Council by four votes.

Democratic Central (Charlottesville)- Very thorough look at Central Virginia politics.

VB Dems (The Shenandoah Valley?)- Great hub for politics in Virginia Beach.

I certainly don't know all the blogs in Virginia- so if you or someone you know runs a blog that largely covers local politics, please leave it in the comments.

VBDems isn't in the Shenandoah Valley, it's in Virginia Beach (that's what the VB stands for)!

If the criterion is strictly local politics... (Bwana - 8/2/2007 2:33:57 PM)
...then you need to include black velvet bruce li (bvbl.net)

There is that sticky question of ideology...

cvillenews.com (Waldo Jaquith - 8/2/2007 7:24:59 PM)
I actually have a separate, six-year-old blog about Charlottesville that's substantially about politics, cvillenews.com.

Need more local blogs for sure (Shenandoah Democrat - 8/3/2007 8:35:06 AM)
Out here in the Shenandoah,  Democrats are outnumbered 2-1. In the last election, apparently our goal was to get 35% of the vote, which we did barely. Pretty interesting that some of the poorer areas of the Commonwealth go so Republican. I believe there's a direct correlation nationally between party affiliation, education level and income. In other words the rethugs have completely misled the less wealthy, less educated to follow their corporate, no taxes for the rich special interest driven idiocy.
Question: Is there a blog that focuses on growth issues in NoVA--especially Loudoun??

Loudoun (David Weintraub - 8/3/2007 10:55:32 AM)
We don't focus on any one issue, but Loudoun Democrats have a blog at http://www.loudounde...
