Shameless self promotion!

JMDD and myself will join Tom Desabla on his radio show on Wed 8/1 from 1-3 PM
The purpose, of course, is to discuss the "civil remedial fees" (let's stop using their language of "abuser fees"- the word "abuser" is a subtle attempt to legitimize the penalties).

Tom Desabla is on WMET 1160 AM from 1-3 daily.  The show is also online at www.wmet1160.com, and if you miss it, it can be downloaded from www.tomdesabla.com.

Ask her (Rob - 7/30/2007 4:29:01 PM)
why she wants credit for the entire bill, except for the part people are most outraged about.

will do... (bault - 7/30/2007 4:58:16 PM)
I was browsing the posts on RK in preparation and that thought definitely came to mind.

Ask her (makenomistake - 8/1/2007 12:52:54 AM)
Help me out.....

Aren't the local politicians, including Connolly, Zimmerman, Loudoun Supervisors, etc....happy as a lark about getting all the $$$$ from this Bill?  I guess we did not get their protest memo.

Didn't this same bunch put pressure in Richmond to pass this sucker....I bet they never read the fine print about the abuser fees.

Well, today on I 95, a big pickup, came speeding around me to pass.  There was a slower auto in the passing lane....this driver was pushing her to move over.  I slowed, she moved over and the driver of the pickup shot off like a cannon.  Well, guess what folks...there in the woods was a little white patrol car.  He shot off after the pickup.

I hope the driver of the pickup has 8 points on his license and is now the proud owner of a ticket that will cost $3,500 in abuser fees.

Go Abuser Fee.....

I like the term (Eric - 7/30/2007 6:01:12 PM)
"abusive fees" - in reference to the fees being abusive to the average Virginian.

Glad to hear you'll be discussing the issue with her.  I could go to town with questions to ask, but I know you're really up on this abusive law so I won't waste time.

But...

If you get the chance, one answer I'd like to hear from JMDD is where she really stands on raising the gasoline tax to help fund the transportation improvement efforts.

Is she for it? And if so, why didn't she make a stand during the legislative process this year?  Why couldn't she (and other Senators) stand up to the House Republicans on the matter?  I'll bet her answer is something to the effect of: It's a long complicated process and with all the various interests involved we had to make a few compromises in the name of progress.  You don't like gridlock, do you?

If she's against it, how does she plan on making up the difference?  What other non-tax (wink, wink) will she support?
