Republicans Already Planning for a Democratic Senate?

Senator Ken Cuccinelli (R-Mississippi?) recently sent an email to supporters in which he predicted who would chair Senate Committees come January and a Democratic Virginia Senate. His intent was to highlight how liberal the Dems would be... but compared to Senator Cuccinelli, Pat Robertson and Jim Gilmore look like liberal Democrats (ok- maybe moderate Democrats). Anywho - I still think it's fun to post:

The bolded and underlined names are the Senators that I would expect to end up running each committee. The italicized names are the `fall back' Senators in the close calls. The Senators are listed in order of seniority.

Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources - Ticer, Whipple

Commerce and Labor - Saslaw, Miller

Courts of Justice -Saslaw, Marsh

Education and Health - Saslaw, Houck

Finance - Colgan

General Laws and Technology - Houck, Miller, Locke

Local Government - Marsh, Lucas, Ticer, Whipple, Puckett, Puller

Privileges & Elections - Howell

Rehabilitation and Social Services - Miller, Marsh, Lucas, Ticer, Puller

Rules - Houck, Whipple

Transportation - Houck, Miller, Marsh, Puckett, Deeds

What do people think? Any surprises?

Update: I've been asked for a link, so you can find the email here. Am I the only one who thinks Senator Cuccinelli has anger management issues?

John Miller (Newport News Dem - 7/30/2007 2:14:18 PM)
should serve on the Armed Services, Foreign Relations and Veterans Affairs Committees.

Whoops, that was the last critical election to switch control of a Senate!

Future Eggs? (K - 7/30/2007 2:38:42 PM)
Oh, good grief: This isn't counting chickens before they're hatched, this is counting eggs that might be laid by future hens that haven't been hatched yet.

Yeah, of course it's nice to dream -- but let's elect a bunch of Democrats first.

Politics as usual (Dianne - 7/30/2007 7:34:11 PM)
My read on this is that the he/Republicans are trying to scare their base into getting out and voting against these dasterdly liberal Democrats!!

Even the RPV's Shaun Kenney thought it good enough to put it on their front page!  We'll see if it works!
