Did you know that according to the PEW Internet Foundation, 64% of voters in the 06 cycle received robo calls?

Citizens for Civil Discourse, a non partisan non profit corporation, with a mission to elevate political discourse in the USA is launching a National Political Do Not Contact Registry.

This registry has as its purpose to give control of the political conversation back to the voter and away from the candidate.

It will allow the voter to choose who they want to hear from, how they want to be contacted (email, phone, fax, mail, etc) and what they would like to be contacted about.

What do you think?

Wouldn't a campaign (blue dawg - 7/29/2007 10:12:44 PM)
have to agree for this to be any good?  With it not being an actual law, creating the registry does no good unless campaigns agree to go along with.

Also in Indiana they banned robo-dials and all that has meants in the state is they just have more live calls.
