According to today's Richmond Times-Dispatch, the hour-long debate Sunday night between Tim Kaine and Jerry Kilgore was a big TV ratings winner in the Richmond area. According to the Vice President for News at WWBT-12, Kent Smith, "about 84,000 viewers tuned in, according to the overnight Nielsen ratings."  The debate audience topped "60 Minutes" and "America's Funniest Home Videos," although it lost to the Redskins game, which ran about 45 minutes into the "Jerry Kilgore Negativity Hour."

So what does this mean for Election Day?  Are more people interested in who becomes the next governor of Virginia than it has, at times, seemed the past few months?  Could turnout be higher than many are expecting?  For the answers to these questions, I guess I'd just say, "stay tuned!"  Even better, get out there and help persuade your friends and neighbors to vote on November 8 - for Tim Kaine and 4 more years of great progress in Virginia.
