According to a new poll in Iowa- Senator John Edwards is surging ahead of both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama as the leader in the first Democratic Presidential contest.

From the Des Moines Register

The survey showed John Edwards leading among Democrats and Mitt Romney leading among Republicans in Iowa, where the 2008 caucuses are scheduled to begin the nominating season.

Edwards had the support of 27 percent of the 400 likely Democratic caucusgoers surveyed by telephone. Clinton was second with 22 percent. Obama had 16 percent, followed by Bill Richardson, who had 11 percent.

Senator Edwards will be in Virginia later this week to help raise money for the House Democratic Caucus. I hope everyone can attend!!!

John Edwards is the only candidate on either side who has shown real compassion for the disadvantaged, real leadership on the issues, and real commitment to CHANGE.
It takes awhile but his message is getting through. Let Barack and Hillary duke it out. The "tortoise" in this race is going to win.

I agree Edwards will win, assuming no new candidates run.  However, if the bigger and slower tortoise Gore decides to run, well all bets are off.  I hope one of them is the nominee next year.

He'll come out smiling (relawson - 8/1/2007 10:05:39 AM)
Edwards may come out of this smiling, fresh haircut (ok, pun intended) and looking good if Clinton and Obama keep duking it out.

I can see the editorial cartoon now.  Hillary and Obama with messed up hair and mud all over then from their cat fight, and Edwards looking like he just finished shooting a toothpaste commercial.
