We've Been Busy

A while ago we asked you to come up with $350.00 to help us in our party building efforts.  You saved the day by raising about $500.00.  Let me tell you what we?ve been doing with your money:

In Onley, Virginia, we rented a booth at a large community yard sale and passed out over 100 pieces of literature, registered voters, and recruited volunteers.
In Accomack and Northampton Counties, we organized successful canvasses and passed out hundreds or pieces of lit.
We?re working to set up Young Democrats clubs in schools.
We?re working to give Northampton County a copy of the voter rolls to aid them in campaigning.
We?ve sent out over a hundred bumper and lapel stickers to folks who asked for them.  (Want one?  Email me.)
We?re running a newspaper ad attacking Kilgore?s support of doing away with vital mining safety regulations.
We?re sending handwritten postcards to targeted voters.
We attended an Anti-War rally in DC to reach committed progressive activists with flyers pointing out Kilgore?s close ties to Bush.
And much, much more, but we?re not stopping there.

We?ve come up with a series of hard-hitting newspaper ads to be run across the state, in regions that care about those issues.  We?re getting ready to launch an ?adopt a voter? program.  And we are looking into the possibility of running radio ads.

However, all of those things cost money, and we have to come back and ask you to give it your all one more time.  Here at Raising Kaine PAC, none of our staff draw salaries, and every dime you donate goes directly to electing Democrats.  We don?t waste a thing, so you can rest assured that every bit you give us will be put to a good use.  Please take a moment to look at the top right hand side of this page and click the ?click and pledge? button, or click here to donate now.  Your donation of $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford will help us make a Tim Kaine victory in November a reality.  Isn?t that worth a few dollars?

Just to give you an idea of what your money can do:
$23.00 pays for 100 postcards to send voters.
$27.00 pays for production costs and airtime for one radio ad.
$40.00 pays to send 100 absentee ballot applications or bumper stickers to voters who want them.
$100.00 pays for a newspaper ad.

Whatever you can afford to donate, please take a moment to do so now.  If you would prefer to mail your donation, please use this form.  Thank you so much for all that you do.

[UPDATE 10/10/05: Please give what you can folks; this is important.  We wouldn't be asking for money if it we didn't really need it to elect Tim Kaine.  Thanks.]
