Democrats were out in full force at the Asian Festival in Reston on Saturday.  Gerry Connolly's campaign and the Asian American Action Fund - Virginia Chapter (a Democratic PAC) had booths on the main walkway.  Last year Jim Webb had the only campaign booth but the Republicans have caught on that this is a big event (20,000+).  We gave away at least 2,000 Connolly fans with stickers for other candidates.

Congressman Jim Moran, Chairman Gerry Connolly, Supervisor Cathy Hudgins, State Senator Janet Howell, Delegate Ken Plum and Delegate Chuck Caputo were seated on the main stage and introduced at the opening ceremony.  There was entertainment, a tennis tournament, and booths selling Asian food of all kinds, arts and crafts, clothes, etc.

Candidates Jim Raney (Fairfax County School Board at large), Tina Hone (Fairfax County School Board at large), David Miller (Clerk of the Court), Ray Morrogh (Commonwealth's Attorney), and John Foust (Dranesville Supervisor) talked to voters.  Hanh Deniston and her two nephews volunteered all day.  Ilryong Moon for School Board manager Kim Constabile (with Ilryong's two sons and their friend), James Walkinaw, manager of the Connolly campaign and Nate de la Piedra, manager of the David Miller campaign and their volunteers were also active.  Sarah John talked to many passers-by and got names of potential supporters and volunteers for Jay Donohue for Delegate.

Rose,

Thanks for all your hard work at the festival.  I think Democrats can put that one in the win column.
