Worst Child Predator of them All: George W. Bush

Remember when Representative Dan Burton, in his fact-finding committee, called Bill Clinton a scumbag, a perjorative that was echoed across the cable TV stations by Ann Coulter and other Republican operatives?  And this for lying about an extra-marital affair, an action which seems to be part of the political religious right's 10 commandments:  Thou shall cheat on thy wife and repent only upon being caught.

Now we have a new, even greater candidate for the title of scumbag-in-charge, a child predator who is currently in the process of screwing 10 million kids!  Our decider has stated he will scuttle a bi-partisan-supported program that provides health coverage for poor kids, in place for 10 years but expiring on September 30. Bush won't give an additional 7 billion dollars a year for 5 years to the State Children's Health Insurance Program, an addition that would cover insurance for an additional 3.3 million poor kids over the 6.6 million kids the program currently covers.  The program would rely upon an additional cigarette tax increase of 60 cents a pack, which Bush opposes.  There is strong bi-partisan support for the additional expenditure.

Bush says the expansion would  open an avenue for people to switch  from private insurance to the government, ignoring the fact that the program provides aid to low income children whose families cannot afford private insurance, yet do not qualify for Medicaid!!!

Our decider says he objects to the additional monies on "philosophical grounds," conveniently forgetting that his favorite political philosopher, Jesus Christ, would certainly have favored such a program, based on many of His sayings.  Regardless, can anyone really believe that this simpering, stubborn fool has a philosophical thought in his head?  If you do, let me sell you the Key Bridge.

A final note:  The cost of the WHOLE proposed program, which would cover 10 million poor kids, is but 12 billion a year. That yearly amount is equivalent to what the Iraq war costs for approximately 6 weeks!

Who's the scumbag now?

I don't know what is.  Great diary and the picture looks like Bush is about to bite that little girl!!!

Chronic problems (VA Breeze - 7/19/2007 5:35:47 PM)
With more employers dropping health coverage for families, more kids are losing health care coverage. I bet there are quite a few parents who after staying up all night with a sick child who can't afford to see the doctor would have a few "philosophical" words for Bush.

I will have to find the study but I have read that kids with chronic ear infections (otitis media) have problems in school.

The objective is not to let anything improve, to reduce every one but the elite rulers to sniveling subsistance-level peasants who will be grateful for any kind of employment at any wage level, and too worn out even to think of opposing their masters. Welcome to the coming Age of Corporate Feudalism.

Thus Bush serves his two masters: First, the global corporatists, and Second, the religionists who believe that End Times are near as described in Revelation, and, therefore, we must do nothing to ameliorate conditions here and now because doing so might delay the arrival of End Times. Who knows which of the two masters will be the final winners? What lunacy.
