I have to work today ugh! (mkfox - 7/4/2007 2:51:09 PM)
My favorite July 4 irony: George III wrote in his diary on July 4, 1776, "Nothing of importance happened today"

I went to the Nationals/Cubs game (Catzmaw - 7/4/2007 3:40:44 PM)
which the Nats won 6-0, and got a George Washington bobblehead doll for my troubles.  I also paid two people $5 apiece so I could have GW bobbleheads for my brother and a friend of mine.  What can I say?  I'm a baseball fanatic.  Now it's off to Mom's for a little barbecue after battling my way through North Arlington's annual July 4th traffic mess near the Potomac.  Woohoo!

Fired up the grill (WillieStark - 7/4/2007 3:49:18 PM)
About 20 mins ago. With mesquite chips. Burgers are gonna be great. Paula Dean ain't got nothing on me. Also some great Italian sausage as well.

I have a case of Miller Lite on ice and a bottle of 100 proof Southern Comfort frozen inside a two liter bottle of water in the freezer. If you haven't sat down in the evening with vanilla ice cream, pecan pie and ice cold Southern Comfort...I suggest you try it sometime.

Happy 4th of July. Everyone be careful and don't blow yourself up with fireworks.

Happy Birthday America !! (norman swingvoter - 7/4/2007 7:15:01 PM)
Tonight my wife and I are hoping to go see fireworks.  Unfortunately it seems to be clouding up so we will have to see.  If you are in the Richmond area, one of the best places to see fireworks is behind the Science Museum and DMV.  The Braves game is always sold out so a few hundred of us view the fireworks after the baseball game from the parking lots outside the stadium.  It is like a big street fair and the fireworks are always outstanding!
