Spotsylvania is a very fast growing county yet the Democrats there seem to be lagging behind the Republicans in not only votes, but Internet presence.  Check out these new Republican websites--

Spotsylvania County Republican Committee:  http://www.spotsygop...

On the Spot Blog:  http://www.spotsygop...

These websites, I must say, are not only good but seem to be useful to the community -- of all ages. There are extensive points-of-contact, events, and all the candidates who are running are listed.

Last fall RK bloggers spoke about helping local committees with building websites, etc....anyone  out there still interested?  http://www.spotsylva...

Yikes... (Eric - 7/3/2007 1:25:14 PM)
I wasn't too impressed with the GOP effort until I saw the Dem site.  That Dem site does need serious help.

I also stopped on the GOP blog to read a post which talks about the new $3500 bad driver fees and I was amused by the fact that they are under the impression that Democrats are responsible for these fees.  Decent site, but those folks are horribly out of sync with reality.

A pretty web site does (totallynext - 7/6/2007 8:00:38 PM)
not make you any less "psycho".

A "pretty web site" (Republican) does, however, indicate.... (Dianne - 7/7/2007 9:12:55 AM)
that you are working hard to get votes by marketing your "product" as best you can, which shouldn't be taken lightly by Democrats.  Those "uninformed" or "uninvolved" voters who just happen to come across the Spotsy Republican website might come to the conclusion that the Republicans have "their act together" and are trying to get the Spotsylvania votes.

On the other hand, people will quickly exit a poorly-designed webstite.  An effective political website must "grab" a visitor and make them want to stay and "explore".  It should be attention grabbing to visitors -- either reinforcing the visitors views or working to convert the unaffiliated!

Taking the voter for granted is dangerous....just remember that 40% of the electorate still believe that Iraq had something to do with 9/11 !!!

The vote results in 2006 (Dianne - 7/7/2007 9:26:13 AM)
November 7, 2007 Results -- Spotsylvania

U. S. Senate
Republican 17,938 56.83%
Democratic 13,208 41.84%

Proposed Constitutional Amendment 1 - Marriage
Yes 20,738 66.25%
No  10,564 33.75%

U.S. House of Representatives
Congressional District 001
Republican 16,505  64.15%

U. S. House of Representatives
Congressional District 007
Republican  3,444  62.97%

Spotsylvania is quickly absorbing multitudes of Northern Virginians and shouldn't be tolerating such poor numbers on the Dem side of the ticket.
