Giuliani Flips-Flops Into Virginia Today

Which Rudy Will Viginians Get?

Richmond, VA -  With Republican Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani scheduled to speak at the Regent University this afternoon, we wanted to take a moment to ask an important question:  Will the real Rudy, please, stand up?  Is he the tough-on-crime mayor or relativist politician who excuses crimes committed by his cronies? Is he a hardliner on illegal immigration or amnesty advocate? And... where does Rudy stand on abortion?

THE FACTS ON GIULIANI'S FLIP-FLOPS:

PRO-CHOICE OR IN OPPOSITION TO ABORTION: Giuliani's most notable flip-flop is his position on abortion. In 2000, Giuliani was firm in his pro-choice positions, but as he courts the conservative vote, he now says he opposes abortion.

IMMIGRATION HARDLINER OR SUPPORTER OF BUSH'S PLAN: In the 1980's, Giuliani was an anti-immigration hardliner who advocated fines of up to $1,000 for people who employed illegal immigrants. But as of last year, Guiliani was on the record supporting the Bush guest worker program as well as providing a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, and even criticized a House bill that would make being an illegal alien a felony. [Washington Post, 7/24/82; New York Times, 3/10/83; United Press International, 10/22/81; New York Times, 9/26/96; Baltimore Sun, 2/12/07; New York Times, 10/28/99; Daily News, 2/17/00; Giuliani State of the City Address, 1/14/98; The Frontrunner, 5/3/06; Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier, 5/2/06; The Hotline, 4/5/06, Chicago Sun-Times, 4/5/06; New York Sun, 4/27/06; New York Times, 7/6/06]

TOUGH ON CRIME?: Giuliani raised his national profile by being the tough-on-crime New York Mayor who made the city safer. But does that zero-tolerance policy apply to his friends? According to Salon.com, Giuliani continues to employ childhood friend, Monsignor Alan Placo, who is accused of sexually abusing children and helping to cover up the sexual abuse of children by priests.

So, the Democratic Party of Virginia actually joins conservative Republicans in asking... Which is it, Rudy? Will the real Rudy Giuliani, please, stand up... before Election Day?

Yeah, and while Rudy's at it, will the real Mitt Romney please stand up too?  How about the real, consummate insider, lobbyist extraordinaire, no-accomplishments-in-the-Senate Fred Thompson?  Now THAT should be interesting.

By the way, keep up the great press releases, DPV...this stuff is great!

Isn't Regents the Taliban law school that regurgitated Monica Goodling?

If so, it is not in Richmond, its in very red Vabeach.
