The Rat Pack can never be back (presidentialman - 6/20/2007 12:52:14 AM)
because they are dead.  Also I think the Rat Pack were a part of Hollywood/Las Vegas.  When were the Democrats in a funk? When they were taking orders from Barbara Streisand, who is liberal lefty.  The Jim Webb/Heath Schuler class of 06 are not taking orders from Hollywood.Thats how they got elected.

The pack consisted of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin,Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop-the last packer still alive-and Peter Lawford.  Lawford married Patricia Kennedy. Kennedy is the younger sister of John F. Kennedy. When Kennedy was introduced, he got to like the Pack. He really liked Peter. Frank Sinatra became a good friend. At JFK's funeral, Lawford can be seen comforting Caroline Kennedy then a young girl-that's film footage of the funeral. Anyrate JFK liked Frank, Frank liked JFK, sang his campaign songs, hosted the Inaugural Gala Ball festivities, which featured Bishop. Frank saw big things-a western White House at his house. He had a presidential helipad for the occassion. Frank also liked the Mafia, he introduced JFK Judith Campbell. Hoover of FBI saw blackmail. Warned the president on it. President had relationship cool with Frank. Frank got mad, and frusterated. Finally he took a sledge hammer and destroyed the Helipad and eased Lawford out of the group.

On an unrelated note, only a few politicians ,like Bill Clinton, can get away with being cool. The Rat Pack were cool. I'm not sure Chap Peterson is. This has nothing to do with if I think he'd make a great public servant...just coolness.

It's a.... (novademocrat - 6/20/2007 6:26:57 AM)
themed fundraiser, chill.  It looks like it will be a good time.

Have you ever met Chap? (Lowell - 6/20/2007 7:08:49 AM)
If you do, I think you'll agree that Chap is definitely cool.  More importantly, he'll be a zillion times better state senator than Jeannemarie Devolites-Davis.

At Least Cooler than Celine Dion :) (Matt H - 6/20/2007 9:17:53 AM)

Definitely! (Lowell - 6/20/2007 9:31:16 AM)
:)

I was thinking of doing a thread that said... (presidentialman - 6/27/2007 1:26:29 AM)
Clinton picks campaign theme song and alienates more voters in the process. I mean you get the sense why Bill cheated on her, he needs to have some fun. How can you be married to a guy who had Fleetwood Mac as a campaign theme song and really likes Rock and Roll and the wife picks the anti-christ? Talk about individualism. At least she'll get the gay vote.

I grew up on the Kennedys and (presidentialman - 6/27/2007 1:20:18 AM)
there was a lot of Rat Packing in them. I also had the privledge to work at the Hollywood Video next to our former Webbquarters.  I remember a movie where in spoofing the Bond franchise, Dean Martin is given assignment to these secret operatives who are a force to be reckoned with. They also happened to be blonde busty bombshell all females. So I like their crowd. No I have not met chap. I've met Newt Gingrich and helped Senator Phil Gramm load fertilizer. I even met Chuck Robb-all customers at my job at Home Depot, only Gramm was still in office, Robb had just been defeated. But no, I've never met Chap. Is he that cool of a cat?

Come to the party tonight and find out. (Lowell - 6/27/2007 8:29:08 AM)
