Now that is awesome! (mkfox - 6/16/2007 3:36:44 AM)
And I was glad to hear Jim and Jimmy met with Bush, if only to quell the right's criticism that Webb is a pompus hot-head.

Webb is Just Being a Marine (Susan P. - 6/16/2007 10:42:23 AM)
The first to hit the beach, making it safe for everybody else to follow along.

Excellent (tbrewste - 6/16/2007 11:20:17 AM)
Excellent segment...I am proud of our senator and his son!

That was great (Alicia - 6/16/2007 11:56:52 AM)
thanks for linking here.

Here's another thanks.... (bladerunner - 6/16/2007 2:00:40 PM)
I missed it on TV, so it was great to see. God Senator Webb is such a rational man compared to his predecessor. I think most Americans can appreciate where Sen Webb is coming from. Son sounds like a decent man too.

Both NBC and NPR (KathyinBlacksburg - 6/16/2007 2:02:24 PM)
Webb and Son were on both NBC and NPR yesterday.  The NPR interview was on Morning Edition.  [Here's the link

That was a lovely piece (LAS - 6/16/2007 9:56:28 PM)
I especially liked the part about Jim Webb's father, who was so opposed to the Vietnam War, and then had to watch his son go off to fight in it. I guess history really does repeat itself...

It was a Great News Segment (ub40fan - 6/16/2007 7:45:36 PM)
Webb and son are regular guys, though the Senator rarely utters a word that isn't thoughtful. The guy radiates intelligence but it doesn't alienate (a criticism of Mr. Gore).

But by and LARGE this war in IRAQ (which will go on for years as a multi-regional Arab war) ... the U.S. Occupation in IRAQ needs to end, NOW. I've got my brother going over to Anbar with the Marines this summer ... one of my daughters boyfriends will be there at the same ... a newly minted Marine .....

And I can't get over what a Strategic Diaster this has become .... while the Decider sits there riding it out until the next President has to fix it ... hands tied of course by the shit head decision to go in the first place.

END THE OCCUPATION, NOW .... let the Arabs slit each others throats.

Sorry for that sentiment, but I know a father whose son didn't make it back from IRAQ .... to go fishing on Father's Day ... my favorite past time.

PEACE.

I was really touched... (Nick Stump - 6/16/2007 7:58:26 PM)
It took me back to when I came home from Vietnam and saw my family. Good TV.  Jim and Jimmy are the real answer to the chickenhawks.

Father and son look so very close (Catzmaw - 6/17/2007 6:25:01 PM)
What a wonderful relationship they seem to have.  Good luck to them and to all the military families this Father's Day.

We're still in Iraq (MohawkOV1D - 6/18/2007 11:07:15 AM)
the democrats, including Webb, have dropped the issue.  Yeah!  One more Friedman to real progress.

Now about that gun thing Senator, if it was you're gun,  why didn't you know wher it was?

Nevermind, the cult of personality will carry you through.

Quite the contrary... (Rob - 6/18/2007 11:17:43 AM)
"Jim Webb Isn't Backing Down on Iraq"

MohawkOV1D! Now with more trolling! (Catzmaw - 6/18/2007 3:28:29 PM)
Keep up your naysaying, Mo.  Your fingers are moving but no one's buying your line.  Anyone who's been following the issue knows very well that Webb has not dropped the issue.  And the "gun thing" is old news and a very minor tempest in a teapot.  Regrettable, but hardly worth the effort you're putting into it.
