Could Kerrey Join Webb in the Senate?

Fmr. Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-NE) is rumored to be contemplating a return to the Senate, as Chuck Hagel's days on the hill may be numbered. Attorney Gen. Jim Brunning is running for the GOP nomination in '08, with or without Hagel in the race. Dave Sund posts a diary on MyDD explaining why Brunning is very beatable and claims that either Kerrey or Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey may run for the Democratic nomination.

Over on DailyKos the reaction to this was somewhat skeptical since Kerrey and Lieberman are apparently very tight (nice how he forgets to mention the relationship between Kerrey and Sen. Webb). However he does note that current Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) is far to the right of anyone else in the Democratic caucus, without bashing Dems on national television on a weekly basis like Lieberman does.

He's super sharp but I just checked his past voting record and it's plain "no good" on trade, economic middle class issues...
and he also was the "bad guy" on the adjunct professors wanting a union at the New School University.

That's a shame because he's really funny, bright..
maybe someone can get him to see the light and come over to the Progressive/Populist side on these.
