on Bearing Drift tomorrow, Sunday at 7 p.m.

Assuming this show allows call-in questions, anyone for compiling questions here?

Davis is a pretty good speaker, especially when he has time to compose himself.  Although his last opponent got him on the ropes with some good ones, Davis hasn't really had to practice dodging too many tough questions in his career. It probably won't help to ask the questions he has had time to formulate answers to, but if they can be formulated in ways that don't give too much wiggle room, you may get a real answer.

Stem cell research enhancement act (elevandoski - 6/10/2007 12:08:22 AM)
Someone could ask Thelma "Tra La La" about her vote against the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act. One could also ask her why she voted against a bill that would give local AGs, like AG Bob, the ability to prosecute gas and oil companies guilty of price gouging. Someone could ask her how she is holding up now that her rubber-stamping days are over.  She reported to the Pilot of being worn out from all the hearings and investigations the new Congress is undertaking.

If she's "worn out" (Andrea Chamblee - 6/10/2007 1:52:38 AM)
shouldn't she step aside for someone who's "fresh"?

Thelma should tell us (Susan P. - 6/10/2007 1:32:50 PM)
Thelma Drake should tell us why she told Kerry Dougherty during the recent Alfredo Ramos firestorm that "In ICE's eyes, Virginia Beach is a sanctuary city."
Does Thelma Drake not understand that ICE is in charge of immigration enforcement, and that ICE is doing a terrible job?
Does Thelma Drake not understand that ICE is a federal agency, which is HER level of government?
Does she not understand that SHE'S our federal representative, with authority in this area?
Does she not understand that local governments are not responsible for immigration enforcement?
Is she at all concerned that outrageous, misleading statements like this by a clueless federal official could lead the public to boycott Virginia Beach during tourist season?
Does she know who owns Mi Casita, and whether they have made any political contributions?  If so, to whom?

Somebody should ask either of them why they have not yet introduced (opencarry - 6/10/2007 10:06:55 PM)
a bill to require the National Park Service to assimilate state gun carry laws onto National park land the way the National Forest Service has long done on Forest Service land - the current situation is outrageous, and the fact that the Park Service has quietly put out the word to NOT enforce its gun ban on the GW Parkway is no excuse for fixing the Park regulation nations wide.

Both Davis and Drake are well read-in on this controversey as the Park Service recently refused to act on the Virginia Citizens Defense League's Petition for Rulemaking in this matter.  See http://www.vcdl.org, scroll down to Petition for Rulemaking section.
