I was pleased to be able to attend the ACDC 2007 Jefferson Jackson Dinner to celebrate the Arlington Democrats Blueprint for Victory and to hear from Virginia Senator Mary Margret Whipple, Delegate Brian Moran and Congressman Jim Moran.  Each gave pointed remarks that reminded me how fortunate Virginia is to have such a solid group of Democrats from one area and how much work we need to do.

Tonight Arlington Democrats also were about helping bring their blueprint and assistance to other areas of the Commonwealth.

I was also reminded of our 2006 race and how Jim Moran stepped up to help me in Virginia's 1st District even as he helped countless campaigns through his outstanding support for the DCCC and the DNC.  No wonder DNC Chairman, Governor Howard Dean, MD was there tonight to provide the keynote address.

I also note that 2007 ACDC Awards included the Netroots Award Winner: Lowell Feld ... my congratulations to Lowell and all the award winners

Some quick notes on Chairman Dean's remarks:

Campaigns are no longer "one way" but with the new technology voters now have the ability to talk to us.

On-line communities can and do make a difference ... he talked about the impact on Jim Webb's winning campaign from his entry into the race to election day ... his support from the on-line community made his election possible

Republicans have consistently put their party over the interests of the American people .. like Iraq .. where every Republican Presidential candidate supports Bush's failed policy and his latest plan to keep the USA tied up in Iraq for at least the next 50 years.

Democratic Core Values of fairness, toughness & strength (that is also smart), personal responsibility and fiscal discipline
