Any doubts that Tim Kaine is the heir apparent to one of the most remarkable fiscal success stories in Virginia history were put to rest this week. Governor Mark Warner first toured with Tim Kaine and then starred in a Tim Kaine TV ad titled "Guts".Yesterday Warner and Kaine were in Hampton, Alexandria, and Richmond together, visiting with supporters and school students to highlight Tim Kaine's plan for to provide pre-k education for all of Virginia's 4 year olds. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine worked together to build a bipartizan coalition to reform Virginia's tax structure. The Warner-Kaine tax reform rescued the state from a $6 Billion deficit left by the profligate Jim Glimore administration. Estimates now put the state's surplus at nearly $1.5 Billion. The remarkable turn around allowed the state to fully fund its educational responsibilities and invest in new roads.
