Flak over Flack

Is this "controversy" over how some Obama staffer spelled the word "flak" in a press release the stupidest thing you've heard in weeks?  Or, is it just the stupidest thing you've heard from John "Peaceful Stroll in Baghdad" McCain in weeks?  Well, this pretty much sums up the way I see it, courtesy of the great Josh Marshall:

'Flak' without the 'c' is the spelling I know for 'flak jacket' or 'catching flak'. But as Greg Sargent notes here, Websters' says they're both acceptable spellings. But really, who cares how it's spelled since, My God, the candidate doesn't spell-check the press release.

That makes McCain's criticism so mind-boggling silly and juvenile that it breaks new ground even for those of us who've grown painfully accustomed to his now apparently permanent decline.

By the way, if all John MCain can do while our fighting men and women are getting shot at is to correct other candidates' spelling (and missing 46 straight votes in the Senate), he obviously has his priorities just a weeee bit out of order. Of course, why should we listen to anything this guy says anyway?

Now that we've established the McCain can spell Flak Jacket... (humanfont - 5/26/2007 11:52:34 AM)
Maybe he'd be willing to send our troops into war wearing them; rather than waiting until we've been stuck there for 4 years.  Also Senator McCain, for future reference it is spelled "quagmire".  I'll use it in a sentence for you to help you rememeber.  "Senator McCain continues to vote to have our troops slaughtered in a quagmire in Iraq."

Is it just me??? (ub40fan - 5/26/2007 5:26:58 PM)
Or in the RK send up picture ... McCain is hugging the Great Decider with his hand on Bushy's crotch??  Yikes ... Where's the press release on that??
