Hey, got my sun gazette today and tucked at the bottom of the page of political notes was fact that Bob James has a prolbem paying taxes. Why isn't this worthy of an op-ed piece? Only Enquirering minds know - that's right, a real investigative reporter would look into this, the sun gazette might as well be called the Arlington Enquirer. The bloggers have more reliable info, go blogs!

And say, you know I said I get lots of info just from surfing the net? well guess what I just found in the mission and goals of DC govt where Bob James used to work in the CFO office, here is goal number 4:

Goal 4 Improve tax compliance by increasing collections from the accounts receivable balance and the non-filer population, as measured by revenues from research referrals.

Wow, imagine that? DC govt had a goal of improving tax compliance. Not a novel concept for a candidate for treasurer either, no? So isn't it ironic that the guy who says he got all this experience in the CFO office of DC govt doesn't pay his taxes on time while going after the really underserved in DC and making sure they pay their taxes?  Seems pretty hypocritical to me -"you must pay your taxes on time, people of Anacostia, but me, attorney from private prep school and north Arlington?  well, no problem, will pay when someone takes the time to go after me." signed Bob James, tax evader.

We get it. He doesn't pay taxes on time. He's a bad candidate. This is like the 10 millionth post this week regarding the Arlington Treasurer's race. This is a Virginia-wide blog. I live in Arlington and support O'Leary, and *I'm* getting tired of this. Imagine how people who don't live here and don't care must feel. Next issue :)

Agreed. (Lowell - 5/25/2007 8:03:30 AM)
Unless there's some "new news," I'm going to put my foot down on this and refuse any more front-page diaries on this subject.  As Dave says, we all "get it."
