I very much hope to be able to hear Gore talk about "how the politics of fear, secrecy, cronyism, and blind faith has combined with the degration of the public sphere to create an environment dangerously hostile to reason."

By the way, The Huffington Post has an article entitled, "We Guarantee Al Gore Will Be Attacked Next Week, We Absolutely Guarantee It."  And it vows to fight back against the right-wing smear machine attacks on this courageous man, Al Gore.  It's time for all of us to join with Al Gore in the fight against the flat-earth, global warming deniers and other modern-day "know-nothings."  Thank you Al Gore!

Hitchens on CNN (PM - 5/16/2007 9:43:15 AM)
These are not exact quotes because I can't type that fast -- but Hitchens (who I'm not a big fan of) does have a way with words.  Anderson Cooper kind of let him rattle on:

"...you can get away with the most extraordinary offenses against morality and truth in this country if you can just get yourself called Reverend . . ."  "how dare they raise money from credulous people on their huckster-like Elmer Gantry radio stations . . ."  they are "Chaucerian frauds who are simply pickpockets . . ."
