Just arrived in my inbox:

Breaking News from ABCNEWS.com:

PRESIDENT BUSH TO SPEAK AT 1:25 P.M. ET; HE IS EXPECTED TO ASK CONGRESS TO IMPLEMENT THE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PROPOSALS OUTLINED IN JAN.'S STATE OF THE UNION. LIVE ON ABC NEWS NOW.

Just a reminder that President Bush's energy plan was universally dismissed as rubbish the very same night he unveiled it.  The fact that he's rehashing it now shows:

1) He hasn't learned anything about the urgency of the climate crisis in the last 5 months
2) He's desperate to try to change the subject away from Iraq

While I'm not surprised that Bush would try to distract from Iraq, it seems like such a meek attempt with a push for his environmental policy. Social Security reform was his big distraction issue for a long time. Why environment now? Maybe it is to distract from the Climate Summit which starts today in New York, http://www.nycclimat....
