Don't know how many RK readers are aware that the Virginia National Organization for Women (VaNOW) has a PAC and that we have made our first endorsements for the General Assembly election in November. We endorse candidates in state elections who best reflect our goals and values--in short, who will work for equality and justice in the Commonwealth.

These are our initial endorsements: George Barker for Senate in the 39th Senate District, Adam Ebbin for Delegate in the 49th House District, Janet Oleszek for Senate in the 37th Senate District, Jeannette Rishell for  Delegate in the 50th House District, Bruce Roemmelt for Delegate in the 13th House District, and Margi Vanderhye for Delegate in the 34th House District. As RK readers know, Barker and Vanderhye face primary challenges June 12.

Consider endorsing Morris Meyer in the 40th (Sunny - 5/12/2007 7:37:38 PM)
I'm a member of NOW, and Morris and I strongly support equal rights across the board.  There are many issues we are passionate about, and this is one of them. Morris and I find it very hard to see how people who pay their taxes can be treated differently under the law.  Here in Virginia, we are way behind the times in passing the Equal Rights Amendment.  We fully believe in equal rights for women and others and we must move forward, step by step, to reach the promise of more perfect union.
