James vs. James

This is truly pathetic.  Bob James attacking teenager James Martin for...blogging?  For strongly supporting (Bob) James' opponent, Frank O'Leary?  Perhaps (Bob) James is rapidly realizing that his campaign is not only misguided but hopeless, which is why he's resorted to attacking the teenager named James?

Sure, (Bob) James has got the RIGHT to run against Frank O'Leary, as anyone does. But why on earth would someone who claims to be a Democrat challenging the Democratic incumbent who is not only universally beloved in Arlington, but also has been voted the best Treasurer in all of North America!  Fortunately, this will all be just a bad memory on June 13, after Frank O'Leary kicks (Bob) James' butt and after (Bob) James fades into deserved political obscurity.  And the funny thing about it all is that the teenager (Bob) James attacked, also named James, will still be around, having the last laugh no doubt as he blogs away at Virginia Progressive.  Keep up the good work, James!

The only pathetic part is you and ben trying to make a story of what at worst is an benign comment.

I wasn't there, nor do I support anyone in this race, but let's look at the quote as reported by ben.

"saying in regards to negative campaigns... "The James Martins of the world..."

So let's review James is in College (ie not in high school as most people think of "teenagers"), nominated for college blogger of the year and so clearly a public figure.

Not to mention that the quote above hardly qualifies as an attack

I understand that you and ben do a talk radio show you, so there is a need to legitimize his baseless attacks, but please do a better job than this.

I am quite capable of making my own judgments as to what I think is a legitimate story.  I was actually alerted to this by James Martin, not by Ben, as if that matters.  Regardless, I strongly support Frank O'Leary for Treasurer and am truly puzzled as to what Bob James is doing.  His frustration is obviously showing if he's starting to attack bloggers.

I can hardly tell you how to blog, but the above comment seems a lot more like proper analysis than this "attacking teenagers (by having the audacity to repeat the name of his attackers)" sensationalist line.

Lighten up nate :-) (James Martin - 5/10/2007 10:21:20 PM)
I was just excited Bob James knows who i am! (Though i the audience had any idea what he was talking about).
