House.gov employees checking for Tom Davis

I've had several comments from a pseudonymous writer on my latest Tom Davis diary also on my blog. In that diary, I questioned why House Government Reform Committee employee Brian McNicoll wrote a letter full of untruths to the Connection newspaper.

The commenter said I should not challenge the facts in McNicoll's letter because he is not a "loyal Bushie."  At the same time, I see hits to my blog from the House of Representatives -- on government time.

This person has commented three times, and despite my invitations to explain why McNicoll's letter would be so patently false, he has not accepted my invitation and he has not addressed why McNicoll misrepresents the evidence against Davis.  He won't address whether Davis is guilty of ethical violations. In fact, this commenter denies there's even an accusation of any ethical problems.

So, I thought it was interesting that during this time I've had half a dozen hits from house.gov, all between 9:40 and 4:45, except for one that's at 5:00:03 pm.

I can't get the screenshots to load here on RK, but they are up on my blog at Beltway Progressive.

Your Davis staffers at work!

based on the screen shots (pitin - 5/10/2007 3:14:03 AM)
on your blog your using Stat Meter.  It's private so I can't check, but Stat Meter does allow you to see how they got to that page; direct hit, from a link (and if so which one), from a search engine (and if so what key words), etc... It'd be interesting to know how they're getting to your blog.

As a side note, to any Tom Davis staffers that may come across this, I think it's time to talk to Shelley again about her facebook.  Unless of course, the Congressman is open to changing his position in gay marriage.

This is what comes up as her "listing" before you even go into her profile.

Too bad I'm not a W&M alum (mkfox - 5/10/2007 4:29:08 AM)
I'm interested to see what other photos Shelley has posted

well (pitin - 5/10/2007 4:54:02 AM)
The reason I put "again", during the '06 campaign pictures of her drinking (in general) and drinking at a lingerie party where published after she wrote on her dad's official facebook page "thanks for supporting my dad" w/o making her profile public.  They even made Wonkette.  (link below leads you to '06 diaries)

It's kind of sad that you have nothing to do except resorting to bashing the child of one of our local politicians.  It's people like you that make Americans abhor politics the way that they do. But I guess if it helps you sleep at night, more power to you.

Also Lowell, didn't you decide about a year ago when something came up not to post IP addresses or domain names?  Wasn't it in regards to a pitin diary too?

We;ve never posted IP addresses.... (Lowell - 5/10/2007 7:58:17 AM)
...except for one time by mistake.  What are you talking about?

Darn (NGB - 5/10/2007 8:03:10 AM)
I have WM access but hers is private

The blackouts in the screenshoots were IP addresses (Andrea Chamblee - 5/10/2007 11:20:18 AM)
I didn't want to publish the IPs that showed up.  All my screenshots should show is "house.gov" and the time and some other non-individually identifiable information. If you can figure out who it is, you are a bigger geek than I am.

Child Bashing (Susan P. - 5/10/2007 7:40:12 PM)
LilP - (1) She's not a child, she's an adult.  (2) This is attention-getting behavior if ever there was such a thing.  (3) SHE knows her father's Tom Davis. Don't you think that's why she posted this, so people would SEE it?  She really doesn't seem to be trying to hide a lot here.  (4)  We have spent the last umpteen years listening to Republicans bloviate about "family values," when it turns out, again, that it's them or their children who are the subject of their own self-hate-mongering.  It's okay for them to spread fear and misinformation and discrimination against strangers, but it's not okay for others to point out their hypocrisy?  Shades of Ed Schrock.  "They're in the showers with us, they're in the bunkrooms with us, they're in the staterooms with us."

Oh, Shelley... (afausser - 5/10/2007 11:25:40 PM)
I agree.

What drew my attention to the pictures that wonkette ended up using was that I was looking at Tom Davis' facebook election page and she had written on the wall "OMG my Dad's so cool!" or something of the sort. I wouldn't have even gone and clicked through to her profile otherwise.

One of her siblings was quoted in an article some years back saying something to the effect of "when a family member is in public office you have to be careful about what you do." Shelley not only ignores this advice, but broadcasts who she is to the world.

Also, W&M is one of the harder schools to get into from NOVA....surely being a Congressman's daughter doesn't hurt? (Sorry, I'm bitter about that last part.)

As interesting as this pic is... (Andrea Chamblee - 5/10/2007 11:28:13 AM)
Everyone loves a lesbian, after all.  Leviticus didn't call anything they do an "abomination."

As much as a politician's child should know she is living in a fishbowl, I must say I think we should focus on the behavior of the parents, who chose the limelight and chose to act unethically - and illegally - once in it.

First Storm of the Season named after Andrea? (PM - 5/10/2007 7:55:04 AM)

Go get 'em!

It's unfortunate (littlepunk - 5/10/2007 7:57:25 AM)
For people named Sarah or Thomas or Wynetta.  They'll never get storms named after them which isn't very exciting at all.

Until global warming, they didn'y get far enough down the alphabet (Andrea Chamblee - 5/10/2007 11:21:43 AM)
certainly not for Wynetta.  Hurricane Rita was unusual because they rarely get to the "Rs."

I knew (littlepunk - 5/10/2007 1:18:16 PM)
as soon as I wrote that a "global warming" comment was in the offerings.

But hey (Andrea Chamblee - 5/10/2007 1:45:03 PM)
I stuck up for you on the kid photo.  Nate is truly resourceful on the web, but I'd prefer to concentrate on Mr and Mrs Devolites Davis: "Stay in Iraq when it's wrong as long as it's popular; get out of Iraq because it's unpopular even though he presumably still thinks it's right."

I agree (littlepunk - 5/10/2007 2:29:08 PM)
I completely disagree with most of your bizarre posts, but I have noticed that (what you say above), yes.

And my global warming comment was just an observation - didn't mean anything bad by it.
