Great news from "Friends of Henry Light"...

Former Governor Mark Warner will appear at a fundraising breakfast to support 79th District House of Delegates candidate Henry Light on Saturday, May 19. The breakfast will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Renaissance Hotel Portsmouth, located at 425 Water Street in Portsmouth.

"I am deeply honored that Governor Warner will be attending this event on my behalf," said Light, who is seeking the Democratic nomination against incumbent Del. Johnny Joannou. "Governor Warner's courage and leadership during his term as Governor improved the lives of millions of Virginians and moved our state forward. I will be proud to stand with him on May 19th," Light continued.

Ticket information for the breakfast can be obtained by contacting the Light campaign headquarters at (757)-484-7816 or by email at henry@henrylight.com: .

Light is opposing Joannou in the Democratic Primary election on June 12th. The 79th District consists of parts of the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk.

Of course, if you can't make the Warner fundraiser for Light - who Raising Kaine has endorsed - you can always give at our ActBlue page.  Thanks.

Great news (Carrington - 5/9/2007 3:23:06 PM)
I hope this will provide the needed cover for other elected officials to find their intestinal fortitude and  come out in favor of Henry Light.

Joannou hurts the Caucus!!!

I couldn't agree more. (Lowell - 5/9/2007 3:29:09 PM)
Henry Light will be a HUGE improvement over the current occupant of that seat. And I don't mean this as a backhanded compliment, either...Henry will be great!!
