RK's Second Endorsement Question: Vanderhye or Sullivan?

This past Friday, we strongly and enthusiastically endorsed Henry Light for Delegate in the 79th House of Delegates district (parts of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk).  Now, we are turning to another race, this time for the Democratic nomination in the 34th House of Delegates District between Richard "Rip" Sullivan and Margi Vanderhye.  Over the next 10 days, we'll be looking at these two candidates closely.  We invite both candidates to come on RK and make their case to our readers.  Also, we'll be featuring a live debate between the two candidates this coming Sunday at 8 PM on Blog Talk Radio, moderated by Del. Kris Amundson.

Given that the incumbent Delegate, Vince Callahan, has announced his retirement, the winner of the Democratic primary has a great shot at winning the election in this increasingly "blue" district.  Needless to say, we're taking this endorsement very seriously, and will not make it lightly.  Everyone's input is appreciated.  Thanks!

I just attended their debate this morning at the Dulles Area Dems Breakfast (Used2Bneutral - 4/16/2007 10:39:06 AM)
We taped the whole session a hour ago and we haven't had chance to even look at the video yet.... If the quality is as good as it should be, we will process it, convert it, and post it on Google Video in it's entirity by very late tonight or early tomorrow morning.... I would highly encourage most people to watch the video before they vote.... they both did very well in my opinion, but they also both gave a glimpse of differences in their style and approach to governing.

I hope this doesn't screw up your time table, Lowell.......

I'd love to see it. (Lowell - 4/16/2007 10:45:11 AM)
Thanks!

Thanks, please post it! (Rob - 4/16/2007 10:52:26 AM)

Wow, what a great feature (PM - 4/16/2007 10:52:28 AM)
Thanks, Used2be.  This is a great service.

Hmmmm.  Another reason newspaper circulation is declining?

As I promised.... it was just delayed by Google for about 12 hours (Used2Bneutral - 4/17/2007 6:22:56 PM)
Here is the URL for the Vanderhye Sullivan Debate

Looking forward to it (Rip Sullivan - 4/16/2007 10:58:00 AM)
I am very excited about taking part in this process and am looking forward to the various ways I'll get to interact with the Raising Kaine community over the next ten days.  I'll probably be live blogging on Wednesday, so get your questions ready!

Thanks Rip, much appreciated. (Lowell - 4/16/2007 11:03:40 AM)

Any video/transcript of the debate? (Greg Hoss - 4/16/2007 2:06:31 PM)
I am very interested in both of these candidates as they seem well qualified, I just can't decide. Does anyone have a transcript or a video of the debate this morning? I don't think I can wait until next Sunday :(

we have converted the digital tape from this morning (Used2Bneutral - 4/16/2007 2:27:15 PM)
now we have to do a quick clean-up edit and then transcode it to the proper format to up-load it to Google Video.... then Google processes the hour long video and finally releases it.... most likely late tonight our time, possibly tomorrow morning early.... It's not too complicated, just time consuming....
