This Saturday, September 24th, we have a chance to talk up Tim Kaine and raise awareness about the Raising Kaine PAC to 100,000 Democrats!  Volunteers are needed to attend what is expected to be the largest single Iraq War protest since the war began over 2 ? years ago!  The protest will be held at the Ellipse in front of the White House at 11am.  Help us pass out fliers about the 2005 Virginia Gubernatorial race and help Tim Kaine and RaisingKaine get national attention!

Remember that the Presidential election isn?t the only one that matters.  Neo-conservative Republicans like Jerry Kilgore have taken over Governor?s seats, state legislatures, and local offices all across the country.  They count on apathy, partisanship, and a lack of awareness to win, but in 2005, the Gubernatorial race in Virginia is the only game in town.  We must defend the Old Dominion state as she approaches her 400th anniversary!  Virginia is currently the best managed state in the country, thanks to Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, but we are in danger of turning backwards if Jerry Kilgore is elected!

This Saturday, RaisingKaine will be passing out fliers to thousands of Democrats and patriotic Americans who oppose the President?s policies in Iraq.  Many of them are from Virginia, and many of them have never heard of Tim Kaine or Jerry Kilgore.  Howver, if you feel like we do, that the quality blogging done by RaisingKaine is important to the push for progressive policies in the 21st century, please offer us your help, while also attending what will surely be a historic event!  For details and meeting times, please contact us at poldir@raisingkaine.com

Remember that even 5 or 6 volunteers could help us greatly in spreading the word about RaisingKaine -- and Tim Kaine -- to hundreds if not thousands of Virginia voters. Then, those voters and activists can help gain national attention for the Virginia gubernatorial race, while helping Tim Kaine win a tight race against a bunch of far-right-wing Republicans led by Jerry Kilgore.  This Saturday on the National Mall, please help us blog Tim Kaine into the Virginia governor?s mansion!!!

Saturday's gonna be a blast!

Jonathan: Jerry Kilg (Lowell - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Jonathan: Jerry Kilgore is not a traditional Republican like Russ Potts, but I agree that he's probably not -- strictly speaking - a "neocon" like Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld.  So what would you call him?  A "Republican Taliban?"  A "Radical Republican?" A "Weasel Republican?" Other ideas?

It's kind of unfortu (Jimmy - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
It's kind of unfortunate, but they must have missed the memo.  The war already happened.  And then they lost the election.  So... it's a little late for a protest.

Jimmy: You must have (Lowell - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Jimmy: You must have missed American history, because the Vietnam War protests didn't really get going until 1965 or even 1967, well after American involvment began.  And, sad to say, Iraq is quickly turning into George Bush's Vietnam War.

Jimmy: It is nice t (Jen Little - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Jimmy:  It is nice to live in a country where we do not have to see the actual consequences of the war, not even when our own American citizens are brought home in body bags.  Isn't it?

Jimmy's response proves that we should see every flag draped coffin every time a plane lands at Dover. It should be on the news every single night.

It is ridiculous to say that the war "happened".
THE WAR IS HAPPENING!

We cannot forget about those who are dying, and must continue to ask for what they are dying.

I am ready and willi (Mimi Schaeffer - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
I am ready and willing to sign up.

What is the next step...?

What does it mean to (Jonathan Mark - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
What does it mean to say "neo-conservatives like Jerry Kilgore." ? Is he a neo-con now too?

Are there any Republicans who are not neo-cons? What is a neo-con? Is any Republican that one doesn't like a neo-con?

Is Tom Davis a neo-con?

Let's ask Lincoln, C (Josh - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Let's ask Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan if they think annual $300 Billion deficits are a good idea.

Let's ask Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan if they think that they personally speak for the Lord God Almighty.

Let's ask Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan if government exists to fund the wealthy while forcing millions into poverty.

Let's ask Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan if unilateral war is the right way to engage allies around the world.

Who are you kidding ziik?

Radical rightwingers like you have killed the pary of Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan.

RIP GOP.  America is drowning in your newfound folly.

Tim Kaine lost my vo (Maury Finkelstein - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Tim Kaine lost my vote the minute he embraced John Kerry.

Plus, Tim Kaine is no Mark Warner.

My advice to Tim, quit bragging about being a centrist  while you're accepting help from MoveOn.Org.  That's hypocrisy, Timmy!

Jerry Kilgore lost m (Josh - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Jerry Kilgore lost my vote the minute he embraced Pat Robertson.

Plus, Jerry Kilgore is no Dan Quayle.

Jerry ought to quit bragging about being pro-life when he won't commit to making abortion illegal if it comes back to the states.  Jerry's just a weak little coward.  Does he have a backbone?

Very original Josh. (Maury Finkelstein - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Very original Josh.  Luckily for Timmy, you're not part of the Kaine braintrust, otherwise he'd be even farther behind.

Well, Maury Finkelst (Josh - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Well, Maury Finkelstein, if that is your real name...

Sometimes ya just gotta have fun with it.  Jerry Kilgore's such a weak candidate, sometimes there's nothing else to do.

Kilgore's campaign s (Neal2028 - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
Kilgore's campaign scares the crap out of me.  A weak candidate, terrible speaker, can't convey his ideas.

I wake up screaming at night with thoughts of "President Kilgore" running through my head...

I guess the fact tha (alva - 4/4/2006 11:28:07 PM)
I guess the fact that twenty times more Americans (23 times to be more accurate) died in Vietnam than have in Iraq is immaterial right?  And the fact that we have instituted a new Democratic government in Iraq whereas the North Vietnamese Government stayed together is immaterial as well.  Because other than those two minor facts Iraq is definately the same as Vietnam.

And do I even have to get started on a "traditional Republican like Russ Potts".  Let's go ahead and ask Lincoln, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan if they think that traditional Republicans support unlimited possibilites of tax increases and homosexual adoption.

The once was a man n (Harry Paratestes - 4/4/2006 11:28:08 PM)
The once was a man named Kaine,
Who used tragedy for political gain;

Yes, Kaine was a political hack,
Always itching to make a partisan attack;

He deserves our pity,
As a governor he would be absolutely sh__tty

Mary, your post make (Mimi Schaeffer - 4/4/2006 11:28:08 PM)
Mary, your post makes absolutely no sense.

Mark Warner fully supported John Kerry and went on the campaign trail with him.
