Where's Johnny Roadblock?

Just moments after Gov. Kaine announced his proposed changes to the major transportation bill pending in Richmond, allies and critics sounded off on his ideas.  Great! cried some.  Terrible! snorted others.

Lots of opinions from lots of corners.  But from one particularly important corner - nothing.

So the question of the day is: where's Johnny 'Roadblock' Joannou?

"Because he is so powerful in Richmond, [Joannou] has exercised a virtual veto over the tunnel for 10 years.
More than any other reason, that explains the gridlock on Hampton Blvd....

Fixing Hampton Blvd. is not all that hard.  Just win Johnny over to your side.  Without him, you're just wasting your time."  [Virginian-Pilot, 11-21-06]
Will Johnny Roadblockfinally take action to solve our traffic woes?  Isn't it about time he showed some leadership on this issue?

The Governor has put a proposal out there.  We are all free to quibble about it, suggest ways to improve it, or come up with alternatives.

But none of us are free to do what they do in Washington - ignore the problem and do nothing.

Where's Johnny Roadblock?

With his GOP friends, that's where (Drexler - 3/29/2007 11:47:57 AM)
This man has come to rrpesent the worst of public service - or should we call it self-service in his case?  He no longer does anything unless it benefits him personally or one of his private clients.  He should just ask his Bush Administration pals for an appointment.  They can appreciate his "heckuva a job, Johnny" style.
