Chap and Janet Coming Soon?

This is puzzling.  Chap Petersen and Janet Oleszek are both in absolutely must-win races this year.  Both Chap and Janet were early and enthusiastic backers of Jim Webb.  Chap met with Jim Webb in December 2005 and was on board after that, BIG TIME.  Janet was, to my understanding, the first elected official in Fairfax to endorse Jim Webb.  David Poisson?  As far as I know, David Poisson never endorsed Harris Miller, but he also never endorsed Jim Webb.  And David Poisson is not facing any serious political threat this year, at least as far as I am aware.  So why would the Born Fighting PAC put David Poisson as a higher priority, naming him as one of its four "first featured candidates," than Chap Petersen and Janet Oleszek?  I'm confused.  Apparently, so is Not Larry Sabato.  Thoughts?

P.S.  I know that Jim Webb supports Chap Petersen because he spoke at Chap's kickoff. Hopefully, Chap - and Janet, and Eric Ferguson - will be added soon to the Born Fighting PAC's "featured candidates."

P.P.S.  I am VERY happy to see Tim Johnson on this list.  Johnson, currently recovering from brain surgery, faces a potentially tough re-election race.  Also, Johnson endorsed Jim Webb on May 10, 2006.  Go Tim Johnson! :)

I bet they will (DanG - 3/28/2007 3:04:41 PM)
I don't understand what the big deal is.  It's freakin March, and the elections are in November.  Good God, man, take a deep breath!  There's plenty of time.

You might want to talk to Chap (Lowell - 3/28/2007 3:09:23 PM)

It's March... (Josh - 3/28/2007 3:11:48 PM)
The end of the first reporing period is a few days away.  In actual campaigns this isn't "take a deep breath" time, this is CRUNCH TIME!!!

Crunch time is when you find out where your friends are...

Oops... (elevandoski - 3/28/2007 3:12:22 PM)
The email I got from Webb also said that Poisson is "fighting for the citizens of Richmond".  Ooops...

Perhaps meant to write... (elevandoski - 3/28/2007 3:25:42 PM)
"Fighting in Richmond for the citizens of Loudoun".  Go Poisson!

or "fighting for the citizens IN Richmond" (Loudoun County Dem - 3/29/2007 10:08:38 AM)

Dave Poisson (seamusotoole - 3/28/2007 11:21:01 PM)
Just need to let you know that I happened to look over to my right at Webb's Victory party after he won the Primary over Harris Miller.  Who did I see but Dave Poisson, one of the few electeds who attended this event.  I was impressed
seeing him there. Most of the other delegates, etc. backed
Harris Miller.  I respected Poisson for being there early on. He sure seemed to be happy and enthusiastic with the rest of us cheering Webb on.

Poisson did a great deal of campaigning for and with Webb last year... (Loudoun County Dem - 3/29/2007 10:07:37 AM)
David was very committed to Webb's victory from the beginning and worked hard for the entire race. He has earned Sen. Webb's respect AND support.

The repub's in Loudoun are wounded (much of it self inflicted) right now but they will pull out all the stops and spare no expense going after Poisson and Herring. Del. Poisson can use all of the help he can get to fight off the upcoming smear campaign that we know is coming.

Well (DukieDem - 3/29/2007 6:55:29 AM)
Poisson needs money to fend off a challenger, McEachin needs money for a race in June (not November), and Mary and Tim fankly need as much money as possible as fast as possible. The selection of the candidates doesn't seem too puzzling to me...
