On the heels of VCU's loss on Saturday, both Virginia and Virginia Tech saw their basketball seasons extinguished in the second round of the NCAA Tourney.  The Hoos were on the brink of the Sweet 16 - a last second 3-pointer to send the game into overtime fell short.  The Hokies has trouble with Southern Illinois most of the afternoon, and also failed to advance. Also, ODU's women's team lost in the first round of their NCAA tourney. And Virginia Wesleyan lost in the championship game of NCAA Division III tournament.
Congrats to all of these teams for their impressive seasons.

I'd say the Hokies did a pretty good job of closing close games this year, definitely an improvement from last year. The SIU game was just never quite in our reach the way they played lockdown D.
I'll spare the rambling, but we were 3-0 in Overtime this year, and those wins came @ Duke, vs Maryland, and @ North Carolina!
My wife is a Louisville fan and I'm for Kentucky. Things get a bit tense around here when December and the Kentucky/Louisville game is played--and no matter who wins, I know I'm going to lose.
Sorry about the Virgina teams. I've sure been pleased with how Virginia Tech has upgraded their basketball team over the last years. When I was playing music in Blacksburg years ago, all those people wanted to talk about was football. One of my favorite towns.
