I got my Bachelor's Degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and my Master's Degree at George Washington University.  As of tonight, both schools have made the NCAA men's basketball tournament.  Of course, I realize that both are underdogs, but all I can say at this point is:

GO PENN QUAKERS, GO GW COLONIALS!!  :)

Got GW and Probably Georgetown (PM - 3/10/2007 10:34:09 PM)
My almas are GU and GW.  I'm from PA, so I'm always a Penn rooter as a side choice.) GU is playing Pitt tonight--right now actually.  I think they'll be in anyway.  It's very cool to have a John Thompson-Patrick Ewing connection again.  So, Hoya Saxa and let's hope none of our favorite teams have to meet.

When I went to GU the team was terrible.  John Thompson Sr. arrived I think my senior year. (?)

Lowell: they chose some guy named Christian Bale instead of us (PM - 3/10/2007 10:48:55 PM)
That's for the world's most physically perfect male, based on body size relationships.  http://news.independ...

[A] scientific blueprint for the most beautiful women, and men, in the world.  Researchers have thrown away the old vital statistics and, instead, focused on how the dimensions of different parts of the body relate to height and body mass index (BMI) to give the perfect physique. Perhaps surprisingly, two of the most important measurements are the girth of the thigh and the slimness of the calf.

The choice for the most perfect woman was Naomi Campbell.  Unfortunately, she's going to be cleaning floors as part of her community service sentencing.  http://www.enjoyfran...

My Dad went to Penn. (NCgrassroots - 3/10/2007 11:22:46 PM)
And even though my Mom went to Duke, as well as one of my brothers; and my sister and another brother went to UNC (Tarheels), we all rooted for Penn if they made the tournament. My Dad would always say, "Penn is the under-dog and those guys make good grades--they don't get athletic scolarships".

My Dad is no longer alive, but I have a hunch that we'll all be rooting for Penn in honor of Dad, (even though my sister is an usher at the Tarheel home games), and my brother who lives in Chapel Hill has season tickets there.

It's just a tradition in our family to root for the Quakers, no matter what.
:-)

Great tradition! (Lowell - 3/11/2007 6:50:23 AM)
:)

Go Heels! (code - 3/11/2007 5:14:15 PM)
ACC Regular Season and Tournament champs! Oh yeah!

Me and John Edwards are dancing a jig.

Hail to the Buff and Blue (mjp - 3/10/2007 11:33:36 PM)
As a GW alumn, I am finally vindicated after seething after reading NCAA breakdown after NCAA breakdown, with nary a GW to found, not even on the bubble!

best of luck.. (lgb30856 - 3/11/2007 1:51:52 AM)
my daughter is a grad of gmu and is going back to get her masters.
my son is a grad of virginia tech.
both lost this year but are great.

I hope you teams win.

Thanks. (Lowell - 3/11/2007 6:51:34 AM)
I'm just hoping that Penn wins one game.  After that, it will all be gravy...

Go GW!! (novademocrat - 3/11/2007 8:44:17 PM)
As a GW alum, I was really excited by them making the tourney especially since my backup team, Syracuse got the old screw job.

I only wish they werent playing in Sacremento so I could go.

Go GW (mjp - 3/11/2007 10:53:50 PM)
I feel your pain...we were ready to ditch all and head to Atlantic City for the tournament, but things came up. I think we can beat Vandy (of course, I also deluded myself that we could beat Duke last year).

Go G-DUB! (joe8track - 3/11/2007 11:26:49 PM)

I had the privilege of seeing the Colonials go up against the Fab Five from Michigan back in 93 at the Sweet Sixteen in Seattle. Anything can happen!
