More Western Woes

Boy, this whole "western strategy" is really off to a great start. First Nevada teams with Fox News for a televised debate (which the Carson City, NV Democratic Committee has officially opposed), now this. The AFL-CIO may put pressure on the DNC to change the location of the 2008 convention thanks to a veto by newly elected Democratic Gov. Bill Ritter (pictured). The bill would have made it easier for unions in Colorado to set up all-union work places, but apparently the Governor didn't like the process that led up to the bill's passage. He said he agrees with the legislation, "but not with the process that led to its passage, arguing the debate should have been broader." Well, there you have it.

"He feels badly that labor feels badly about what happened," says a spokesman for Gov. Ritter. Worst apology EVER.

I found this on SquareState.net:

Ritter's definitely got his boots in the cowpie on this, but he got blindsided by his legislature, clearly.

Time for everyone to take a deep breath and get this done right. Keep cool, in other words. They passed it once, they can pass it again and this time Ritter can sign it.
