Ann Coulter Calls John Edwards a "Faggot"

For the video of Ann Coulter calling John Edwards a "faggot," click here.  For reaction from the "blue" blogosphere (not "pinko" as Ann Coulter thinks), see here. For my reaction, see right here:

I don't give a rat's behind about Ann Coulter, she is beneath contempt. However, what about the Republican presidential candidates who appeared at the same CPAC conference with "Treason" Ann, and what about the Republican audience that cheered her?  When can we expect to hear strong condemnations from people like Mitt Romney, who Coulter apparently has endorsed for President, and at least USED TO strongly support gay rights?  Wait, is that the sound of crickets chirping that I hear? :)

P.S. Mike Stark, who last we heard was busy being tackled by George Allen thugs, is at the CPAC conference and has an interesting report.

No Military Recruiters at CPAC (Josh - 3/3/2007 8:18:57 AM)
Talk about burying the lead...

I guess there were no missing white girls or dead centerfolds to talk about, so of course they trot out the Ann Coulter, the hate geyser.

The real story here is over at Mike Stark's post...  No military recruiters at CPAC.  Thousands of college age white kids who supposedly "support" the war and no effort to get them to actually support the war effort.

priceless and truly "treason"-able.  These people are medieval.

Cant watch the video.... (scarlatagal - 3/3/2007 9:29:19 AM)
But they don't call her "Ann-hole" for nothin'

Wow. (Bernie Quigley - 3/3/2007 9:49:51 AM)
Wow. Coming from a woman who dresses like a transvestite, that's pretty insensitive.

They should just rename it the "Homophobia Party" (True Blue - 3/3/2007 10:09:39 AM)
That's really all they've got going for them.  They've bungled against Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, but the Republicans have proven to be pretty effective at hurting gays and taking away their civil rights.  I think they should play to their strengths and rename themselves the "Homophobia Party."

Ann Coulter is feral (Teddy - 3/3/2007 10:12:26 AM)
as I told you, Lowell, once before, and ought to be caged, placed on exhibit as a unique exotic predator animal.

As for military recruiters, why not ask the Pentagon why the Recruiting Command ignors the watering holes of the elite, and instead prowls shopping centers in low rent districts and in rural pockets of poverty, looking for likely recruits?

Let's ask them. In public.

Also Ask (Gordie - 3/3/2007 11:48:39 AM)
Why recruiters are allowed to say that the new recruit will get a $40,000 bonus for signing up. When the bonus is only$10,000 and of course they fail to mention that in order to get this bonus they must ask for a job that is attached to that bonus. If some one selects, say like welding, which they had in High School and expect to get further training in that area, Well that job does not qualify for any bonus. So the bonus is shit, just like Ann Coulter.

Ann Coulter sells books and that is all she is about. Some people stup to the lowest levels of life, to sell their book.

Coulter's comment from last night (audio) (PM - 3/3/2007 10:38:52 AM)
http://www.geocities...

She's looking more and more like Miss Gulch every day.  In real life, BTW, Margaret Hamilton volunteered at veterans' hospitals.

Unbelievable (relawson - 3/3/2007 10:50:43 AM)
Not shocked that she would stoop this low - but that a crowd of Republicans would cheer such a statement.

Talk about lowering the bar.

I wish.... (mosquitopest - 3/3/2007 10:57:00 AM)
that the progressive community would just ignore AC....she's really worthless and says the most ridiculous things just to get attention....buzz...buzz...

Perfect, Ann; thanks for the opening... (cycle12 - 3/3/2007 11:53:51 AM)
Upon viewing the video of Ann Coulter making that comment, it immediately occurred to me that she will be the perfect poster child for insensitivity and intolerance and should be applauded for making it so easy for us to point out that "quality" of those who support Ann and her ilk.

Just imagine replayng that video next year when the Republicans are trying to recruit voters from a broader base of supporters.

Also, I can't wait to hear Mudcat's response to that one - think I'll forward the clip to him, just to make sure he knows about it.

Thanks again, Ann - you're your own worst enemy!

Mudcat on the hate amendment (Lowell - 3/3/2007 11:59:13 AM)
I think it's blasphemy to put this on the ballot and try to divide God's children for political gain. God loves them queers every bit that he loves the Republicans.

Not surprisingly... (cycle12 - 3/5/2007 11:56:26 AM)
Mudcat's response was one of sympathy for Ann Coulter, who may be anorexic or bulimic or both.

She appears to be a sad individual, and I feel very sorry for her, too.

Is Ann a man? (Rebecca - 3/3/2007 12:13:46 PM)
Rumors have been strong for years that Ann is actually a transsexual. This picture does look like he/she hasn't taken hormones lately. I would like to see a DNA test on "Ann" to see if this is true. It would verify that Ann is projecting every time he/she calls someone a faggot.

BTW (Rebecca - 3/3/2007 12:15:05 PM)
I have nothing against homosexuals, but the ones who persecute their own are discusting.

There's something going on with her (PM - 3/3/2007 12:27:11 PM)

Really funny (Rebecca - 3/3/2007 7:26:13 PM)
This is really funny. A perfect picture for the subject.

This is bullshit. (David Weintraub - 3/3/2007 8:16:21 PM)
Come on, Rebecca. This commentary is at the level of Ann Coulter herself. Cut it out.

Agreed. (Lowell - 3/3/2007 10:29:25 PM)
I don't know if Rebecca thinks this is supposed to be funny, but it definitely isn't.  Ick.

other issues (PM - 3/4/2007 1:13:50 AM)
There's a real issue here as to what Coulter's slur says about her internal feelings about males and females.  That's an honest issue that's been raised a million times whenever some attacks someone's else's sexual preferences.  It's been said quite openly and debated about Catholic priests, and the evangelical ministers (like Haggard) and the many Republicans who have been found to be hypocritical (from Foley on down).

Pam Spaulding wants to know -- what was Edwards' campaign doing trying to raise money off of this?

  http://www.pamshouse...

I can't even begin to address the fact that the Edwards campaign used this as an e-fundraising tactic right out of the box. It cheapens the message beyond all reason. This required a separate response not tied to an ATM request.

And why is it "cute" for Mudcat to use the word "queer"?  It's an offensive term for a straight to use it and someone needs to tell him to use terms deemed acceptable:

6.  Offensive Slang Homosexual.
7. Usage Problem Of or relating to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, or transgendered people.

1. Offensive Slang Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual person.

Romney, McCain campaigns condemn Coulter remarks (PM - 3/3/2007 1:36:17 PM)
Per Americablog:  http://americablog.b...

Coulter endorsed Romney.  Will he refuse to accept her endorsement?

Look at this woman's hands!

Keep A Copy (norman swingvoter - 3/3/2007 1:55:32 PM)
Keep a copy of this video.  It should be useful in the upcoming election.  I've always wondered if Ann Coulter really believes this crap she espouses or if she is just being controversial to get sound bites.  At any rate I now think that she has become clinical and should be in therapy.
