New and Improved Ways to Attack Pelosi

Some have been quick to point out in Robert Novak's newest op-ed piece that he slams John Murtha and his long, distinguished career in the House. Like it or not, this is par for the course for Novak. But what amazed me is that, when it comes to Speaker Pelosi, he's moved passed the tired San Francisco and female stereotypes and has now moved on to her ethnicity. He refers to Rep. George Miller (D-CA) as Pelosi's, "consigliere". This term, first brought to prominence in The Godfather, is a Mafia Boss' most trusted confidant.

I'm sure his angelic intentions were only to smear Pelosi and the other House Democrats, but he's managed to insult an entire ethnic group with this one. Although, you really can't blame Novak for being insensitive. That would require one to actually be human.

Regrettably, I've even heard Democrats use this designation.  (I'm wondering if they even understand the term.)  Now I just wish that one of our attack dogs would quickly spin this one to our advantage.
