Frank Wolf Thinks We are Fighting Nazi Germany...or Something

Has Frank Wolf completely lost it?  Here's the explanation on YouTube for the craaaazy video you see above:

In the Rules Committee's meeting on the Iraq resolution, Rep. Frank Wolf responded to Rep. Slaughter's comment that this was the wrong war at the wrong time by saying that our situation is akin to the once faced by America in 1937 and 1938 with Nazi Germany on the rise.

It is?  Huh?  For more on Frank Wolf, "Godwin's Law," see here.  According to "Kagro X":

...Wolf believes that instead of voting on the escalation itself, we should be voting on whether we think the Iraq Study Group's report was a nice thing or not. And if we don't, well, it's just Nazi Germany all over again.

Add yet ANOTHER embarrassing Virginia Republican to the long list of embarrassing Virginia Republicans.  Ugh.

Wolf was actually speaking for (Teddy - 2/14/2007 8:11:01 PM)
the Iraq Study Group Report? Or did I mis-hear him? His comments were a little muddled, but I think that was the thrust of his remarks. That means, I take it, he is against the so-called Bush Surge? Too bad he has to keep bringing up World War II, which he has done before, I believe, at least, in such a half-baked way. I think he's actually on our side, against the Surge... but he does seem to be losing it in terms of being able to make a clear statement and in his grasp of what's going on. He does seem to have aged greatly of late. Too bad Feder is not sitting in his chair at this crucial time.

The Virginia Republican Zoo (Kindler - 2/14/2007 8:12:38 PM)
Perhaps we could attract more tourists to Virginia with a new state zoo that includes:

-  A rabid Wolf
-  Eric Cantor the out-of-control hawk
-  Frank Hargrove the jackal
-  George Allen the, uh, monkey
-  Jerry the Duck (of course)

What species am I missing?

You forgot Virgil (Rebecca - 2/14/2007 8:22:13 PM)
I'm not sure which animal would work for Virgil. Perhaps we should include them in an exhibit on the living history of Virginia. Hear the traditional Republican animals squeal and squawk.

A jackass? ;-) (Kindler - 2/14/2007 11:50:09 PM)

whatever happened to... (littlepunk - 2/14/2007 10:00:06 PM)
...that jerry the duck website?  is it archived anywhere?  my favorite part was always clicking on the "listen to jerry" link or whatever, and hearing him say "i have no duty to you, mr. lieutenant governor" in his great accent

Tom Davis: (Andrea Chamblee - 2/14/2007 10:31:54 PM)
something with two-faces requiring high financial maintenance.

The closest I can find is a chameloeon. From the FONZ:

They have eyes that can move independently and look in two directions at once, as well as swivel nearly 180 degrees. They are therefore able to look in any direction, and even follow moving objects, without turning their heads or shifting body position. When a prey animal is spotted, both eyes will focus on the insect in order to perceive depth

Well, at least this creature has its good looks going for it... ;-) (Kindler - 2/14/2007 11:44:25 PM)

Weasel (Andrea Chamblee - 2/14/2007 11:50:18 PM)
After reading the Davis statement on his tepid support for the Iraq resolution. I was wrong about the chameleon. He is a Weasel word-er.

Not to mention... (Kindler - 2/14/2007 11:46:49 PM)
...the Republican House and Senate majority might also include a lot of lemmings, considering the way they've been going on the transportation bill...

Aren't lemmings famous (Andrea Chamblee - 2/14/2007 11:59:58 PM)
for running over cliffs together?
;-)

Lemmings get my vote any day (Rebecca - 2/15/2007 10:06:49 AM)
-That is for representing the right wing Republicans.

There was more (Rebecca - 2/14/2007 8:17:43 PM)
I heard something similar from him on CSPAN. See my diary "Frank Wolf Squeals Like a Pig in Front of Congress". Compared to the screaming and squealing I heard from Wolf in another part of the hearing this is tame, except the reference to Nazis. Taken in total he seems to be losing it.

I can't figure out what he wants Congress to do. He keeps talking about the Baker plan and then says the President's surge is the only plan that will work. Those two statements contradict each other. What he fails to appreciate is that the Baker plan is significantly different from Bush's current surge plan. This makes one wonder if Wolf has even read the Baker plan. Does he want Congress to recommend that Bush follow the Baker plan? Bush already had a chance to do that and decided against it. Wolf is just plain NUTS!!! He is hysterical and irrational, and beginning to sound like the other extreme Virginia Republicans. Maybe he has been to too many prayer breakfasts.

All I know is there were a number of us out there before.... (bladerunner - 2/14/2007 8:44:47 PM)
dumb ass Bush decided to be childish and invade a country that Bin Laden wanted him to--that said, this is the wrong battle at the wrong time dude. And to keep digging the whole deeper is stupid. It's an incredible victory for Bin Laden to have us wear down our military for nothing.

The statement that is so fucking stupid is, "Better to fight them there than here" No shit Sherlock--But Iraq wasn't the place, even a peagen like me knew that. There even counting bodies like they did in Nam, "We got 13 more insurgents today". Not a drop in the bucket--cause 26 more just came in. I am tired of all these dumb fucks that think were fighting the war on Terror there, were just tragically wasting lives---Ohhh that's right I guess I am not patriotic cause I said were wasting lives for this great Bush Quagmire. I also love it when the NEO CONS say,"We can't stop now, otherwise all the ones that died would be in vain". That's a pathetic argument.

Eric Cantor and Frank Wolf are Brown shirts working for Dumbya. I'm out.
