Schedule? (cycle12 - 2/7/2007 4:08:20 AM)
Thanks, SF; I've checked the MSNBC website thoroughly (but, obviously, not thoroughly enough...) and can find no schedule for upcoming broadcasts.

Any suggestions?

Steve

No time given (Silver Fox - 2/7/2007 7:48:10 AM)
Steve,
Matthews announced it at the very end of his program, just before he signed off.  He merely said that Jim would appear on his program tomorrow, which is now today, Wednesday.  Up here in NOVA the program runs at 5 pm and repeats at 7 pm.  MSNBC is a nationwide cable feed so I have to figure that your schedule would be the same.  If you miss the first time maybe you can catch the same program at the later time.  That's all I know so far but I'll try to find out more.  If I do, I'll add the information here.

Understood, and appreciated, SF... (cycle12 - 2/7/2007 9:36:05 AM)
Couldn't find any listings of upcoming shows on their website and was just wondering if I'm missing that?

Thanks!

Steve

Another Webb Home Run! (cycle12 - 2/7/2007 6:15:14 PM)
And most appropriate on "Hardball".

As those who just finished watching it, you know just how well Webb performed, again.

Will try to locate the link as soon as possible...

Thanks!

Steve

Condi on notice (Silver Fox - 2/7/2007 6:36:51 PM)
As Steve said, Jim Webb did an excellent job.  If you missed it first time around, they replay Hardball at 7 pm so presumably the Webb interview will appear again.  One of the real zingers Senator Webb threw over the plate was his promise to offer a bill stating plainly that the President DOSEN'T have the authority under the enabling legislation that the administration used to take us into Iraq to now take us into Iran, absent an immediate threat to the US.  You will remember that Webb asked Secretary Rice for the administration's clear position on whether they do in fact have the authority and Secretary Rice punted.  She promised a written answer.  Senator Webb didn't get one so he wrote a letter asking again for a statement on the matter.  No answer so far.  Boy, oh boy, do I hope C-Span shows the hearings tomorrow.

Most important aspect of Webb's interview - Condi's inaction (cycle12 - 2/7/2007 6:49:43 PM)
Agreed, SF; there should be no doubt that our illustrious Secretary of State has been put on notice and that her further non-responsiveness will result in a like-worded Senate resolution to be put forth by Jim Webb in the very near future.

Yes, C-Span and the various other media outlets will be well worth watching tomorrow, and thereafter...

Thanks!

Steve

You guys are SO making me regret my basic cable. (Catzmaw - 2/7/2007 9:06:24 PM)
Now I have to wait until the weekend to catch the Hardball rerun on NBC.  Dang.  Anybody know when the video link will go up?

Think Progress has an interesting clip from the interview here regarding carrier activity in the Persion Gulf.

Thanks! And a big round of "sturm und drang" all around! (Catzmaw - 2/7/2007 10:45:14 PM)
A few points:

First, Chris Matthews, if you want the man to answer your questions will you please STFU long enough to let him do so?

Second, Webb looks like he's enjoying the hell out of the interview.  Big smiles at every single question.  I'm astounded at how far he's progressed in terms of sheer comfort before the camera in a few short months.  He seems to relish the chance to attack difficult questions and complex issues.  Sturm und drang indeed.

Third, some great points on Webb's part about the potential for a diplomatic incident in the Persian Gulf due to the difficult turning radiuses (radii?) of the ships(!!).  He was speaking as a former SecNav who knows his stuff.  He also placed the whole "preemptive war" and "preemptive attack" issue in context, although he practically had to shout over Matthews who wouldn't stop blathering.  Webb also made excellent points that "it's more important to stop the war" than to defeat the President.

Have I mentioned how much I like this guy?

Webb was great (mr science - 2/7/2007 11:35:26 PM)
he's really taking the lead with this situation with Iran. It's really my biggest concern at this point. Thank god for Jim Webb.
