Del Toro1Democratic candidate for Delegate, Carlos Del Toro, now has a page up on Act Blue. He's running against Rep. Mark Cole (R-Stafford) in the 88th district. It's an uphill battle but, much like Jim Webb, if anyone can do it, Commander Del Toro is the man. By clicking on the link you can donate to his campaign in a matter of seconds. Read Cmdr. Del Toro's announcement after the jump...

After 26 years of Military Service and three years as a Small Business Owner, it is with great pleasure that I now announce my candidacy for the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 88th District (Stafford, Spotsylvania, and Fauquier Counties). I'm fighting for hardworking Americans and small businesses to simply fix what's broken in our community and I am asking for your support in this endeavor. Together, we can bring accountability to the General Assembly, and give voice to our community.

Most of my life has been spent in public service to the public good, as a Military Officer taking care of our troops and serving our nation; as a Military White House Fellow, gaining experience at the highest level of federal government; as a small business owner creating jobs and opportunities for Virginians; and through my active community involvement as President of the Capital Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. My work, life experience and involvement with business and military groups throughout the community has convinced me that the citizens of the 88th District deserve better, more responsive representation in Richmond. Too often, the needs of our community have been placed behind the desires of Party machinery and big money donors. As your Delegate, I will work as diligently and honestly as I have throughout my career, with integrity and independence.
