Jim Webb, our SENATOR...how wonderful it is to say that!...from Virgina, was awesome.  I assume the interview will be available somewhere on YouTube or elsewhere.  Go see it.

...but I still haven't found the video of it, and I missed this (Sunday, February 4) morning's 9:00 A.M. broadcast.

Anyone else located the video yet?

Thanks!

Steve

Thanks for the link, Steve (Catzmaw - 2/4/2007 1:11:42 PM)
Hoping they post the video soon.  I was up extremely early and decided at 7 to take a little nap, waking at 10 a.m. with the cat on my face.  Oh well.  Missed the whole thing.  I did catch most of the Edwards interview on MTP, during which he had some very interesting things to say about the Iran situation, but of course I want to hear Webb's talk on Fox.

Thanks for making me laugh out loud at your description of waking up after an intended "short nap" with a cat on your face...  That was, as they say in the commercials - priceless.

Here's the link to the transcript of Jim Webb's interview with Chris Wallace as broadcast earlier today (Sunday, February 4) on "FOX News Sunday":  http://www.foxnews.c...

As expected, our fearless junior U. S. Senator from Virginia held his own in what some may consider to be hostile territory.

Have you ever been more proud - and certain - of your support for Jim Webb than now?

I have not, and it's just going to get better...

Enjoy, and thanks!

Steve

Just finished reading the transcript (Catzmaw - 2/4/2007 5:37:12 PM)
and can hardly wait to see the video.  Once again he more than holds his own and won't let Mr. Smarm get by with any of his insinuations or snide asides.

As for my pride and certainty in my support of Webb, I went from posting a bumper sticker on my office door during his campaign with the intention of taking it down after the election, to keeping it there and welcoming the comments and questions of people coming to my office.  It's a constant conversation piece.  This is how I began to understand just how much Webb speaks for our military overseas, even though he will not say he does, because many of my office visitors are military on their way to another deployment.  Some are recently returned.  The vast majority of them are clearly not happy about the continuing deployments.  Even the ones who believe their good works there outweigh the costs also will admit that they think the whole thing's been horribly mismanaged.  And when the military folks are accompanied by their parents you should hear the comments then.  I've also worked the proposed new GI Bill into my conversations.  The parents in particular are usually thrilled to hear about it.

On the income inequality issue Webb's beginning to gain some converts.  I believe we can thank Webb for Dubya's sudden discussion of CEO compensation during his speech on Wall Street.

Can guarantee you, the next time Webb runs for anything or needs people to show up at an event I'll be there with bells on (the cat will have to stay home and find another face to sleep on).  He's going to help change this country's direction.
