Franken for Senate?

Speaking of political humor, this may turn out to be not so funny for incumbent Minnesota Republican U. S. Senator Norm Coleman if Al Franken runs a solid campaign against him as pointed out in this recent Washington Post piece:

Hopefully, the voters of Minnesota will get the last laugh, along with their new U. S. Senator Al Franken.

I've read 1 1/2 of his books and they are well researched and well thought out.  He will do well in debates.  And Franken grew up there, so I think he'll be viewed as a native.

I wonder if he'll be able to resist his ultra-puckish humor.  But I think once he gets into a campaign and is personally attacked his fighting mettle will show.
