Time to Stop Denying and Start Acting

Today the much anticipated and frequently leaked Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report on climate change became official.  Anyone who still doesn't believe that
a)Significant Climate Change is happening as we speak
    b)Human activity is to blame
is living in an isolated bubble of complete denial and self serving fantasy.

Flat earther's who need proof: Washington Post, CNN, Time, ABC News, plus over 1600 more articles on Google News.

Here on RK, Lowell's has had much to say the past week on environmental matters - here, here, here, here, here, and  here.

There is no controversy.  There is no reasonable "other point of view".  Global climate change is here and it's not controversial.  Period.

Dubya is busy patting himself on the back for saying the words "climate change".  While I applaud these recent additions to his vocabulary, his "effort" doesn't do jack shit to even begin to address the problem.

The time for action is now, even if it means uncomfortable changes to our very comfortable lifestyle.  And pushing for uncomfortable changes is not exactly familar territory for politicans - of any party.

But it is time.  Actually, long past time.

You are absolutely correct. Two things that should be done immediately is to increase the amount of funding for mass transit projects and to build new nuclear power plants.

on KOS put it... "the word international is enough for the Bush administration and the rest of America's right wing to dismiss the entire report."
