Republican operatives have a well-established plan to separate the Democratic party from the noble and deeply held American value of Democratic Rule, by using only the noun form of the word "Democrat" to refer to the "Democratic" Party.
The implication is that Democracy has nothing to do with the Democratic party, and indeed the very word Democrat, is easy to transform into a pejorative if pronounced with the appropriate amount of derision, with the emphasis on the final syllable: Democrat.
