This coming Tuesday, January 30, is the special election for Occoquan Supervisor. Jeff Dion is the Democratic candidate, and he has been strongly endorsed Mark Warner, Tim Kaine, Jim Webb, and others. It's time to help Jeff Dion win this race. Along these lines, I received the following from a fellow member of Webb's "rag-tag army:"

The turnout in this special election is expected to be very low.

I'm just a bit player among a cast of thousands. What's great is that folks are willing to not only help out their great candidates in their own school districts, magisterial districts, cities and counties, but are willing to go the extra mile (literally) to help out great candidates in other jurisdictions. In Northern VA, there is definitely a sense of mission and commitment to good governance, progressive values and volunteerism - Grassroots power!
My counterpart in SW Virginia, Brian Phillips is doing a great job, too! I may have traveled down to Dale City and over to Leesburg, but can you imagine traversing the entire 9th Congressional District on a regular basis for work?!?
We'll hopefully have our partner down in Hampton Roads soon!
And to inform folks, we're hoping to send some adventurous folks all over the Commonwealth! Northern VA volunteers are making plans to make trips out to various locales across Virginia. It'll go a long way to dispelling the whole "NOVA vs. ROVA" media-hyped meme.
