This sounds interesting, courtesy of Congressman Jim Moran (D-8th):

What: Congressman Moran is utilizing a new technology to enhance his ability to hear constituents' views.  Monday he will host the 1st ever telephone town hall meeting in the region.  Among topics to be discussed are the Iraq War, global warming and the President's State of the Union address.

The 1st of its kind in the Washington region and the first Member in the new 110th Congress to use this new technology, the Tele-Town Hall meeting will last approximately 45 minutes.  Participants will be prompted to ask questions throughout the course of the conversation.

The Tele-Town Hall follows a 'radio show style' format.  Participants can join the call at any point in the meeting by calling a toll-free 1-800 number and to leave the call at any point they must simply hang up the phone.

During the call, Congressman Moran will tell participants interested in asking questions to Press #3.  Questioners will then be placed into a queue where they will continue to follow the meeting while awaiting consideration of their question.

*Reporters covering the call are asked to reserve any technical questions regarding the mechanics of the Tele-Town Hall until after the meeting is completed.

When: Monday, January 22nd
7:00PM - 7:45PM

How: Congressman Moran's Tele-Town Hall is free and open to the public. Interested parties can join the Moran Tele-Town Hall by calling toll-free: 1-800-340-2694, then entering the Conference ID: 6612654, followed by Participant PIN 1.

Be there, or be...Jonathan S. Mark?  Ha.
